We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both on-line and off-line.
Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way using well established protocols. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the Web page.
While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted on-line, we also protect your information off-line. Only those who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which I store personally identifiable information (PII) are kept in a secure environment.
In order to use my website, you as a user must first complete the registration form. During registration you are required to give certain necessary information) such as name and email address). This information is used to contact you about the products/services/information on my site in which you have expressed an interest. At your option, certain other information gathered helps us in our out-reach program for marketing and providing valued informational data to our “audience.” That requested information is NOT required.
We request information from you on our order forms. To buy or obtain certain offered information, you must provide digital contact information. If ordering such things as books in hard copy, etc., I need basics such as name, shipping address, and certain financial information to complete the transaction. Of course, one leg of this is the necessary credit/debit card information to complete a request – and/or PayPal information. This information is used for billing purpose and to fill your order. If we have trouble processing your order, we will use this information to contact you.
I will be sharing demographic information with certain partners, but this will NOT be linked to PII.
If I use an outside shipping company to ship orders, and a credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services, these companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes beyond fulfilling your order. A representative example would by Pay Pal.
If I partner with another party to provide specific services, when you the user signs up for these services, I will share necessary contact information for the third party to provide services. These parties will not be allowed to use PII except for the necessary purposes of providing these services.
My site ThinkingWrite.org at the time of the creation of this policy does not contain links to other sites. I encourage my users to be aware when they leave my site they read the privacy statements of any other sites they visit.
At this time I am exploring marketing. I may from time-to-time request information via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests, if I choose to do any, is completely voluntary and you the user may choose whether to participate and therefore disclose whatever information you deem reasonable. Information requested may be sensitive, PII types of information. I strongly suggest you use discretion in what you choose to disclose. But if it is a contest, we will need contact information at a minimum so that we can notify you if you are the “winner.” Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring and/or improving the use and satisfaction of this site.
Any questions should be directed to Don using the contact form. If you are not satisfied with this procedure, you can text me at: 541 579 3500.
